Use this when Pinterest will not connect, no board appears, or a pin is blocked before it can publish. Pinterest connects from Settings, then Socials. The card is labeled Pinterest and shows a Beta badge.
Open Settings and select Socials.
Select Connect platforms if nothing is connected yet, or Connect accounts if a channel has been connected before.
A window opens. It first says Connecting to Ayrshare…. Ayrshare is the service that completes the Pinterest sign-in. Seeing that name is expected.
Sign in to Pinterest and approve the requested access. Pinterest needs at least one board on the account before it can be linked.
While the window is open, Socialbud shows Waiting for connection…. When it succeeds, Pinterest appears on Socials with a Connected badge and the account name.
The first time you select Pinterest on a post, Socialbud says Pinterest is in Beta. Choose I understand, continue to keep it selected, or Cancel to leave it off.
On the post, a Board list can appear after Loading boards…. Choose a board, or leave Select… empty. An empty choice publishes to the board that was linked with the account. If no boards can be loaded, the Board list is hidden and that same default board is used.
On Pinterest, open your profile and create at least one board if you do not have one yet.
In Socialbud, open Settings, then Socials, and select Connect accounts.
In the window, sign in to Pinterest and approve every requested permission.
Close the window and check that Pinterest says Connected on Socials.
On a post, select Pinterest, confirm I understand, continue the first time, add an image or a video, and choose a Board if the list is shown.
Allow pop-up windows for Socialbud. If a new window cannot open, the connection page opens in the same tab.
Only an owner or a manager of the Socialbud account can connect or disconnect Pinterest.
Publishing has to be included in the plan before Pinterest can be connected.
During authorization, Pinterest lists the app as Ayrshare, not Socialbud.
The Beta badge means publishing can still have issues. After a pin goes out, check Pinterest and confirm it is really there. If it is not, contact [email protected].
Pinterest does not accept a text-only post. Add at least one image or a video.
A carousel can have up to 5 images. Story posts are not offered for Pinterest. If Pinterest is the only connected channel, a story says None of your connected platforms support this post format.
The caption is the pin description. It can be up to 500 characters.
A video can be up to 900 seconds (15 minutes). Socialbud attaches a thumbnail for the video pin. You do not pick that thumbnail yourself.
There is no pin-title field and no separate destination-link field. A link typed in the caption is not a clickable pin link.
Board is optional. Skipping it does not block the pin.
Turn off a VPN or an ad blocker if the Pinterest window fails to load, then try again.
Pinterest will not connect, or no account appears. Create a board on Pinterest first, then select Connect accounts again and approve access with the account that owns that board.
The card says Reconnect required. Select Connect accounts and approve Pinterest again.
The Board list never appears. Socialbud hides it when no boards come back. The pin still goes to the default linked board. Create a board on Pinterest, connect again, then reopen the post if you want to pick a board.
You see "Pinterest does not support text-only posts. Add at least one image or video." Add an image or a video, then try again.
You see "The pin description is too long for Pinterest (max 500 characters)." Shorten the caption. The post can also offer Shorten for Pinterest.
You see "Pinterest carousels support a maximum of 5 images." Remove images until 5 or fewer remain.
You see "Pinterest has a 5 MB image size limit. Reduce the image file size to publish to Pinterest." Use a smaller image, then try again.
You see "Pinterest supports videos up to 900 seconds (15 minutes). Trim the video to publish to Pinterest." Shorten the video, then try again.
You see Waiting for connection… after you already closed the window. Give it a few seconds. Socialbud is still checking the result.
Why does the window mention Ayrshare? Socialbud uses Ayrshare to complete the Pinterest sign-in. The channel still appears as Pinterest in Socialbud.
Why is there a Beta badge? Pinterest is still in testing. The first time you select it on a post, choose I understand, continue. After publishing, check the pin on Pinterest.
Do I have to pick a board? No. If you leave Board empty, or the list is hidden, the pin goes to the board linked with the account.
