Use this when YouTube will not connect, or a video is blocked before it can publish. YouTube connects from Settings, then Socials. The card is labeled YouTube. You sign in with the Google account that manages the channel, then choose that channel. YouTube only accepts a video.
Open Settings and select Socials.
Select Connect platforms if nothing is connected yet, or Connect accounts if a channel has been connected before.
A window opens. It first says Connecting to Ayrshare…. Ayrshare is the service that completes the YouTube sign-in. Seeing that name is expected.
Sign in with the Google account for that YouTube channel, choose the channel, and approve every requested permission.
While the window is open, Socialbud shows Waiting for connection…. When it succeeds, YouTube appears on Socials with a Connected badge and the channel name.
On a video post, Video title is required. Category and Playlist ID are optional. Tags and Made for kids sit under Advanced options. Socialbud publishes the video as public.
Confirm the Google account can manage the YouTube channel you want to use.
In Socialbud, open Settings, then Socials, and select Connect accounts.
In the window, sign in to Google, choose the YouTube channel, and approve every requested permission.
Close the window and check that YouTube says Connected on Socials.
On a video post, select YouTube, add a video, and fill in Video title.
Set Category or Playlist ID if you want them. Open Advanced options for Tags and Made for kids.
Allow pop-up windows for Socialbud. If a new window cannot open, the connection page opens in the same tab.
Only an owner or a manager of the Socialbud account can connect or disconnect YouTube.
Publishing has to be included in the plan before YouTube can be connected.
During authorization, Google lists the app as Ayrshare, not Socialbud.
The Google account needs a YouTube channel, and it needs to be an owner or an admin of that channel. A private or unlisted channel may not appear in the list.
YouTube accepts a video. An image, a carousel, and the Story format in Content are not offered. If YouTube is the only connected channel, those posts say None of your connected platforms support this post format.
The post text is the video description. It can be up to 5,000 characters. Video title is separate, and it is required.
Tags is a single box. Separate tags with commas. The box says Comma-separated.
Playlist ID expects the playlist's ID, not the playlist name.
There is no Shorts switch. Socialbud publishes the video as a regular YouTube video, and it is public.
Turn off a VPN or an ad blocker if the Google window fails to load, then try again.
YouTube will not connect. Sign in with the Google account that manages the channel, choose that channel, and approve every permission. Then select Connect accounts again.
The channel is missing from the list. Use a Google account that is an owner or an admin of the channel. The account also needs a YouTube channel. A private or unlisted channel may not appear.
The card says Reconnect required, or a published video fails because access changed. Select Connect accounts and approve YouTube again.
You see "YouTube only supports video posts. Add a video to publish to YouTube." Add a video, then try again. A text-only post or an image cannot go to YouTube.
You see "Some required fields are missing for this platform." or a Missing info badge. Fill in Video title, then try again.
You see "The video description is too long for YouTube (max 5,000 characters)." Shorten the post text. The post can also offer Shorten for YouTube.
You see "YouTube couldn't apply the custom thumbnail — this usually requires a verified channel." The video can still be on YouTube without that thumbnail. Verify the channel in YouTube if you want a custom thumbnail, then try again.
You see "YouTube's upload took too long to complete — please try again." Try the video again.
You see "YouTube's upload service is temporarily unavailable — please try again shortly." Wait, then try the video again.
You see Waiting for connection… after you already closed the window. Give it a few seconds. Socialbud is still checking the result.
Why does the window mention Ayrshare? Socialbud uses Ayrshare to complete the YouTube sign-in. The channel still appears as YouTube in Socialbud.
Can I publish an image or a Short? YouTube in Socialbud accepts a video. There is no Shorts switch, and image posts are not offered.
Can I choose Private or Unlisted? No. Socialbud publishes the YouTube video as public.
